ARJEN ROBBEN hit a late winner to crown Bayern Munich kings of Europe at last.
It banished memories of his penalty miss in last year’s final against Chelsea in Munich — and Bayern are finally triumphant at their third final in four years.
Robben, 29, said: “I’ve so many emotions — especially from where we came from last year. That was such a disappointment. It needed to happen, but you still must do it.
“Your whole career goes through your mind, it’s such a special feeling. You don’t want to be a loser and finish every time second place. We deserved to win.
“I don’t know how many times I’ve dreamt about it. I had a great feeling afterwards and everyone who spoke before the game said tonight would be it and we were going to do it.”
Mario Mandzukic had fired Munich into a 60th-minute lead. But they were pegged back seven minutes later from Ilkay Gundogan’s penalty after Dante fouled Marco Reus.
Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes, who will be replaced by Pep Guardiola this summer, said: “We didn’t get into the game in the first half so I corrected a few things at half time.”
Dortmund chief Jurgen Klopp said: “You must respect the result and that’s what we’ll do.
“We were not in the right formation for the second half. It was hard for us after 75 minutes.”
