Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand is hoping his current club; Queens Park Rangers can get something out of the clash with Manchester United when they face off in Old Trafford on Sunday.

The defender who recently claimed it will be a big moment for him as he never had time to say ‘goodbye’ to the fans at Old Trafford will be facing the new look Manchester United attacking line up of Radamel Falcao, Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Angel Di Maria and Juan Mata.

He has since feared the new look Manchester United team stating the fixture will be a big test for QPR.

Although Manchester United remains without a win this season but the 35 year old former England centre- back believes the summer signings of Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria will lift the team at Old Trafford which will probably kick- start their season.

Rio Ferdinand added that he will give everything for QPR on Sunday despite the emotional attachment he has for his former club, Manchester United.

Rio Ferdinand will be returning to Old Trafford on Sunday for the first time since his departure on a free transfer at the end of last season.

He was once a record signing for Sir Alex Ferguson and spent 12 successful years in Old Trafford making 455 appearances during his time in Old Trafford.

Rio formed a formidable partnership with Nemanja Vidic which helped United to as many English Premier League titles as well as champions league and world club cup trophies.

Rio Fedinand, a former England captain left at the end of 2013/2014 season with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward notifying him he was not going to be offered a new contract. He eventually signed for Harry Rednakpp tutored QPR in July.

Rio sees this as an opportunity for him to say goodbye to the fans and people who have supported him throughout his 12 year stay in Old Trafford as he never got to do that upon his exit from the club. Louis Van Gaal has also said it was the right time for Rio Ferdinand to leave the club as he already move past that stage where he was a valuable asset to the club.

Recent reports also claim that Rio Ferdinand will be coming up with the first extract of his autobiography which should see views on John Terry, David Moyes and Roy Hodgson.

John Terry racially abused Rio’s brother Anton during a match between Chelsea and Queens Park rangers and was thus suspended for four matches with a fine of £220,000 in September 2012.

Although John Terry apologised for the ‘language used in the game’ but has refused to make a public apology to Anton Ferdinand which may see Rio Ferdinand gives his verdict on the handling of racism in English football.

The autobiography is also expected to feature views on David Moyes’ difficult 10-month spell as United manager last season as well as Roy Hodgson’s team selection in Euro 2012.
