Sami Khedira is the talk of Real Madrid once more after stories have emerged in Spain saying that the Spanish giants will not have their arms twisted, and will not allow the German international to leave next summer on a free transfer.

The media claimed that Khedira had refused to sign a new contract in the hope that he would be able to receive a bigger signing on bonus next summer.

Madrid however will not allow that situation to happen and would prefer to offload him now even if it meant having to accept a lower bid than their valuation.

This news has put a host of Premiership sides on alert who include Chelsea whose boss Jose Mourinho knows the German well and would consider him to be the perfect cover for Nemanja Matic.

Arsenal has also been linked with Khedira with manager Arsene Wenger’s admiration of the player well known, but negotiations over trying to sign him grew cold once the full extent of his wage demands became apparent.

Now though Madrid’s need to sell could play into Arsenals hands with a reduced transfer fee being able to provide the funds to meet the wages.

Liverpool and Manchester United are also in the market for a quality defensive midfielder so do not be surprised if either of these two clubs start to show an interest.
