REAL MADRID is plotting a shock deadline day swoop for Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno, according to reports.
Italian sports news outlet Tuttomercato claims the left-back is wanted at the Bernabeu as a replacement for Fabio Coentrao.
The Portuguese defender joined Monaco on loan last week, leaving Rafa Benitez short of options at the back.
Moreno has yet to start a game for Liverpool this season with Brendan Rodgers preferring to start new signing Joe Gomez at left-back.
And that could open the door to a surprise exit for the Spaniard, who joined the Reds from Sevilla 12 months ago in a £12m deal.
The 23-year-old made 37 starts last season, along with a further seven substitute appearances.
