Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has not had the best of seasons at Old Trafford, with the club admitting they will listen to offers for the 31-year-old.

The Spanish giants have already been in talks over the future of Mexican international Javier Hernandez who has spent the season on loan at the Santiago Bernabeu, and it was during these talks Madrid brought up Robin van Persie’s name in order to feel Manchester United out.

Van Persie only managed 25 appearances for United this season scoring ten goals, far below what was expected by manager LVG.

At the moment RVP has just one year left on his contract with the Red Devils, who know that this summer is the last chance they have of being able to offload the Dutchman, and may just let him go if Real Madrid is willing to pay around £12 which will cover what the van Persie would have made should he decide to see out his contract, and then leave as a free agent in the summer of 2016.
