Proven Winner backs Arsenal to be in the RACE for the Title

Arsenal new boy Petr Cech knows a thing or two about winning trophies and is backing Arsenal to be there in the hunt for the Premiership title next season.

Following his £11 million move from Chelsea just a few short weeks ago the former Blues shot-stopper is set to make his debut today for Arsenal against French Ligue 1 side Lyon in the Emirates Cup.

The Czech Republic international is arguably one of the Premierships most decorated players after having won 13 trophies including the Champions league during his 11 years at Stamford Bridge, and now the 33-year-old is ready to win more silverware with the Gunners.

‘I have to say that winning the FA Cup is a great thing for the confidence of the team, and everyone involved with Arsenal Football Club,’ Cech told the Gunners’ official match day programme.

‘I hope that this is a platform to build on and I believe that this season we can gradually progress and challenge for the top spots.

‘A lot of people say that once you win something big, the motivation goes down. It actually works the other way round.

‘You know what it takes in terms to win it and you want to repeat it.’
