In what the Daily Star calls sensational reports coming out of Spain Real Madrid will sell top striker Karim Benzema this summer.

The story claims that the bosses at the Santiago Bernabeu would like to sell the 27-year-old at his peak, and invest the money into a younger striker.

The French international has been out of action for a month with a knee ligament injury, but is now set to come back for what could be his last games at Madrid.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool would all be interested in his services, but know he will cost them around £40 million.

Despite only once having scored more than 20 goals in a season it has not altered the faith trainer Carlo Ancelotti has in the Frenchman saying: “Benzema is enjoying a good run of form, I don’t know if it is the best of his career, but it is his best form since I have been here.

“I really like how he works for the team, he is a really important player for us.”
