Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been given a big boost in their desire to sign a world-class striker after Real Madrid president told French media outlet Le10Sport, that the club would like to sign Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, and that they would be willing to sell Karim Benzema in order to make it happen.

Real Madrid would expect to receive at least £40 million for the 27-year-old Frenchman, who is right now at the peak of his career, and despite him saying he wants to retire at the Santiago Bernabeu might not have a choice if Madrid decides to sell.

His agent told Spanish publication Marca: “He’s happy in Madrid. He doesn’t want to leave. Benzema would only leave if Real Madrid told him he was surplus to requirements, because he isn’t going to leave of his own accord.

“Karim wants to see out his contract. He wants to retire at Real Madrid.”
