The English Premier League has told clubs that they must register any new players who they want to take part in any of this weekend’s fixtures (Sat, Sun, and Mon) that they have until noon on Friday to come into compliance with the rules.
What this in effect means is that any player signed after the Friday noon deadline will now have to wait until August 15th before being eligible to play for their new club.
Any clubs currently involved in serious negotiations will now have to ramp up efforts to get deals done in order to give them the best possible start to the news season.
