Currently on-loan winger Nani is set to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season after Sporting Club de Portugal has made it clear that they cannot afford to pay the 28-year-olds £3.6 million per-season wages according to reports in Portugal.

While at Manchester United fans were divided as to his value for the club despite winning the Champions League and four Premiership titles, and he has not fared to badly in his homeland this season scoring 11 goals in 30 appearances which suggests he is probably a better option for United than Falcao and Angel Di Maria.

Sporting would love to sign Nani on a permanent basis, but the wage demands just mean it is a none-starter for the Lisbon based club.
