Arsenal target Mats Hummels has given yet another hint that he could be leaving Dortmund this summer for a new pasture. The high rated world cup winner has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the last one month with reports claiming Wenger seees him as the ideal replacement for Per Mertesacker who is turning 32 in September and hasn’t been offered a new contract which mean he could leave any time soon.

Hummels has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United but with Arsenal more likely to be playing Champions league football next season, the Gunners are said to be the forerunners for his signature. Wenger seems to be a big fan of the Borussia Dortmund player and will according to report by making an offer for him this summer.

The speculation surrounding the future of Hummels is beginning to get at him according to the player himself. It is causing him sleepless nights and He has revealed he has set a date on which he will be making a final decision on whether to leave Dortmund this summer or not and if he is to leave, which of the interested parties he should go to.

‘I’ve set a date [for my decision],’ revealed Hummels.

‘But I’m keeping it to myself.

‘It’s costing me half an hour before bed every night.’

Mats Hummels is quite an experienced player and one that Arsenal could do with. He has played consistently on the top stage. Should he join Arsenal, he will certainly form a formidable with Laurent Koscielny and with Wenger likely to sign a defensive midfielder ( probably someone better than Coquelin ) Arsenal’s defence can only be tightier next season.
