Pep Guardiola will prove to be a big headache for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger

Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is not even at the Etihad yet, but is proving to already be a nightmare for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger with the former Barcelona player liking the same transfer targets as the 66-year-old Frenchman.

Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain has been given a short list of players that the current Bayern Munich trainer would like to see join him at the Etihad this summer, but rather than leave it up to his former Barcelona colleague, Guardiola has according to British daily tabloid The Sun reached out to Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Should Guardiola be able to convince the German international to join him at his new club it will come as a massive blow to Arsene Wenger’s hope of getting the 25-year-old to North London.

This news now almost certainly confirms that City midfielder Yaya Toure has spent his last season at the club and could prove to be a very good buy for another team in the Premier League as Liverpool have proved since signing James Milner from the Sky Blues on a free transfer last summer.
