Arsenal have been given a massive boost in the chase for the signing of a striker this summer. The Gunners have been linked with a move for AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca with reports claming the 29-year-old striker is one of the several high profile strikers Wenger is aiming to target for signing this summer.

With Welbeck, Giroud and Walcott not looking like they can be relied on for a full season, Arsenal are in desperate need for another strilker and have been linked with several names. Morata was said to be the likeliest option, however, it appears the Spaniard prefers to remain with Juventus despite rumours that Real Madrid may be activating his buy back clause this summer and then re-sell him elsewhere.

If the Gunners do not get Morata, rumours have it that back up option is former Sevilla star Carlos Bacca who has always been linked with a move to Arsenal even before he signed for AC Milan last summer. The South American last season scored 49 goals for Sevilla in all competition but this season, he has only scored 17 goals in 37 appearances.

His poor record so far this season has however not managed to stop Arsenal from wanting to sign him and the player’s agent has now confirmed his client has received many offers;

“Then we’ll have to see if the Rossoneri or the player change their minds. Many teams asked me in January, including from China, but Bacca told me he wanted to stay at Milan.

“These teams have got back in contact with me recently in view of the upcoming transfer window, it seems normal that top clubs are following a great player like him.” Said the agent.

After he has only scored 17 goals in 37 matches, anyone who has seen the Colombian play will aggree he is better than what Arsenal currently have and a move for him will make perfect sense for the Gunners especially if they are not able to get their more illustrious targets such as Morata, Cavani, Higuain and co.
