NO MOVE for De Gea after Benitez says Navas with be Real Madrid’s No.1

Real Madrid trainer Rafa Benitez has all but finished Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea’s dream of moving back to the Spanish capital this summer after the clubs new trainer said that Costa Rican international Keylor Navas will be his starting keeper next season.

Navas played a full 90 minutes in the 4-1 win over Manchester City on Friday in Melbourne as the two teams prepare to jet off to their next friendlies, with City flying to Hanoi where they will face the Vietnam national team, and Real Madrid to China where they will play a friendly against Inter Milan.

When asked if he thought Navas was good enough to be Real Madrid’s number one Benitez said: “I think so, yes, we wanted to give him the chance to play and prove himself and he has done well.”

Then when asked if he needed another goalkeeper (De Gea) Benitez replied: “I only need one goalkeeper on each match, and as long as I have one, I’m happy,” the 55-year-old said.
