It would appear now as if Mario Balotelli joining the Gunners is a dream come to an end despite talk of a £30 million deal being agreed to by Arsenal.

The Daily Express claims that Arsenal were prepared to pay AC Milan’s asking price for the 23-year-old striker, but it now appears as if Arsene Wenger must start looking elsewhere for a world-class striker after AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told the clubs website that Balotelli would not be moving to north London next season.

Talking after Italy’s shock exit from the World Cup Galliani said: “Balotelli will remain at Milan.

“I don’t like that it seems as though the national team lost due to Balotelli. Italy lost for other reasons.

“Balotelli has been the only striker who scored, others didn’t have a shot on target.

“It’s not understood why people only talk about Balotelli, when the national team had a coach, technical staff and 22 other players.

“Let’s talk about the group. Now it seems the disappointment has been Balotelli. I don’t understand this and I prefer avoiding other comments.”
