Napoli enters race for Arsenal and Chelsea target

FC Porto’s Colombian striker Jackson Martinez has now popped up on the radar of Napoli who along with Arsenal and Chelsea are considering trying to sign him before the World Cup kicks off on June 12th.

Martinez has proved himself in Portugal having scored 18 goals in 31 appearances this season leading to Napoli director Riccardo Bigon saying that the Serie A club has been watching him according to London24.

“A lot was said about Jackson Martinez during the summer but with the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, things went very well for us,” Bigon is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

“However, I don’t hide that we are interested in him as well as other FC Porto players.

“When it comes to Iturbe we just need to talk with Verona, as they have the option to buy them, we don’t need to talk with FC Porto, but it’s always a pleasure to talk with them, as they know how to run football at a very high level.”
