chelsea,

Never mind what Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho may say publically, as the Blues boss knows all too well that he is skating on thin ice with club owner Roman Abramovich who has shown in the past that he is not afraid to wield the axe when things don’t go his way.

The Russian billionaire was not impressed with the way in which Chelsea lost to West Ham at the weekend while watching the match celebrating his birthday on holiday in Turkey, and now according to the Daily Star he could sack Mourinho if the Blues lose their next Premier League match against Liverpool.

Mourinho has been embroiled in controversy all season be it with the FA or the press, and did himself no favours on Saturday after being banished to the stands for the second-half of the West Ham game after arguing with official Jon Moss at halftime.

The Portuguese manager then left the stand before the final whistle refusing to talk to the press, a story which will no doubt play out over the coming week.

Chelsea meanwhile plays Stoke City in the Capital One Cup tomorrow, but it is the thought of not finishing in a Champions League spot that has Abramovic worried.

Mourinho signed a new lucrative contract in the summer with Chelsea, which means he would be entitled to a whopping £37.5 million pay-out should the club decide to get rid of him, which makes us here at Soccer Transfers wonder if this was not all a part of the Special Ones plans all along.
