French Ligue 1 side Monaco are under a lot of pressure to balance the books after having gone on an expensive spending spree when Russian billionaire Dmitriy Rybolovlev took over and now find themselves needing to sell players in order to lower the weekly wage bill.

Top of Manchester United’s wish list is 28-year-old Portuguese international midfielder Joao Moutinho, who is at home playing in either an attacking or defensive role.

According to reports Monaco is looking to receive around £29 million for the man who was so impressive while taking Arsenal apart during their Champions League match at the Emirates last season, and with Moutinho earning £50,000 per-week it would be a big wage off the tiny clubs books.

Russian side Zenit St Petersburg are also said to be interested in Moutinho as well, but should United be willing to match any offer they make we are sure he would choose Old Trafford over those cold Russian winters.
