Lopez, Falcao, AS Monaco, Atletico Madrid,

Matt Spiro: “After a brief lull, things are warming up again in France. No surprise to learn that big spending AS Monaco are threatening to burst back in to life by signing Radamel Falcao’s old sparring partner Adrian Lopez from Atletico Madrid.

“Various sources are claiming the Ligue 1 club have agreed terms for a loan deal, but suggest Atletico will not sanction Spain international forward’s switch before they have signed a replacement.

“Elsewhere, Bordeaux’s Czech international Jaroslav Plasil has been loaned to Catania and Southampton’s Emmanuel Mayuka has joined Sochaux, also on loan.

“The Zambian international has failed to score in 12 Premier League appearances for the Saints but is likely to get more opportunities to show off his ability at Sochaux, who recently sold their top-scorer from last season, Sloan Privat, to Gent.”
