After what could only be described as a brilliant display in last night’s 0-0 draw with Brazil, Mexico number one goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa could be on his way to Arsenal, where he is likely to challenge current Gunners No.1 keeper Wojciech Szczesny.

The 28-year-old Mexican currently player for French Ligue 1 side Ajaccio, but is free to leave this summer after having seen his contract with the club expire.

Following his performance against Brazil, Ochoa spoke of his desire to play Champions League football which was carried by the Star: “I now need to play in the Champions League to be sure of my level,” he told French newspaper L’Equipe.

“My priority is to stay in France, but I am open to any propositions.

“I have improved in the last three years, most notably in handling the pace of games.

“But I was used to top competition when I played in Mexico.”
