Manchester United is involved in a complex £100 million deal that will see Gareth bale move to Old Trafford with goalkeeper David De Gea moving to the Santiago Bernabeu writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.

Real Madrid have made it clear that they will go after David De Gea in the summer despite United’s top transfer negotiator Ed Woodward slapping a £50 million price tag on the young Spaniard.

In order for the deal to go through Welsh international Gareth Bale will have to move in the opposite way which has United ready to put another£50 million on the table along with De Gea.

So far talks between the Northwest club and De Gea’s agent Jorges Mendes are at an early stage with suggestions that the 24-year-old is waiting to see if United qualify for the Champions League before committing himself to any new deals.

Having just signed former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes it would appear as if manager Louis van Gaal was getting prepared for the departure of De Gea after Real Madrid has not hidden their desire to sign the 24-year-old.

With current los Blanco’s keeper Iker Casillas turning 34 in May the Spanish giants along with the country’s national team are both looking at De Gea as the obvious answer and with his girlfriend, singer Edurne Garcia pursuing her career in Madrid DE Gea has one more reason to return home.
