Following on from all the talk yesterday of Manchester United making a big money move for Gareth Bale, which might also involve David De Gea moving to the Santiago Bernabeu, the Red Devils are wasting no time in looking for the Spanish shot stoppers replacement by lining up a £40 million offer for Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.

The 28-year-old French international is according to ESPN open to a move away from White Hart Lane providing it gives him the opportunity of Champions League football next season.

Tottenham meanwhile will not want to lose Lloris to a Premiership rival, but if the Frenchman pushes for the move it will be hard for Daniel Levy to keep him in north London.
