According to the Guardian newspaper, Manchester United is set to make an improved offer to Southampton for their French international defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

Southampton had already rejected United’s opening offer of £20 million as they seek to cash in on one of their most valuable assets, with the general consensus being that it will take an offer of £25 million to make the Saints sell.

Southampton is still flush with cash from all the transfer business they did last summer, so feel no pressure in selling, while Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wants to get the 25-year-old on board before the Red Devils jet off to Seattle to begin their pre-season tour of North America on July 17th.
