According to Spanish sports daily AS Welsh winger Gareth Bale wants to move back home and Manchester United is the club that wants to make it happen.

This news follows a meeting between Bales agent Jonathan Barnett and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, in which Barnett told Perez that Bale would like to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Apparently Madrid will be willing to let the 25-year-old leave if they can recoup the £85.8 million that paid to Tottenham for him two seasons earlier.

Manchester United meanwhile see Bale as a marquee signing that can only be good for the clubs future , and backed by new kit sponsor Adidas will have no trouble meeting Real Madrid’s asking price.

Meanwhile Louis van Gaal will use Bale’s former Welsh teammate Ryan Giggs to convince the winger his future is at Old Trafford.
