Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has identified Everton right-back Seamus Coleman as his next transfer target and has instructed the United Hierarchy to get the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international at all costs according to the Sun.

Coleman is rated at £20 million, but even at that price Toffee’s boss Roberto Martinez will be unwilling to let a player of his quality leave as Everton season after season start to see the distance between themselves and the top-four of the Premiership widen.

There is however one card United could play to perhaps twist the Spaniards arm, and that is to offer winger Adnan Januzaj on a season long loan to help sweeten the deal.
