According to Spanish newspapers Marca and AS Diario Manchester United is on the verge of beating both Chelsea and Liverpool for the signature of Barcelona winger Pedro, after the Red Devils agreed to pay the Catalan giants £16 million up front with £4 million in add-ons to match the £20 million fee the La Liga champions were asking for the World Cup winner.
This now almost certainly looks as though Angel Di Maria will be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain, and while United may have lost money with the Argentinian international, they will have made it up by signing Pedro.
