Last week 31-year-old Manchester United striker Robin van Persie spent the week in Istanbul with his wife and kids to get the lay of the land and to see if they all would be happy living there, after his stock at Manchester United appears to be on the rocks.
This afternoon the Guardian is reporting that the Dutchman is on the verge of leaving Old Trafford, and that his agent is in Turkey now trying to tie up a four-year deal with Fenerbahce.
