As Manchester United trains ahead of their Europa League match with Liverpool at Anfield on Thursday night, manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Ecuadorian international right-back Antonio Valencia is ready to return the team and could very well feature in the first-leg of what many fans now see as the Red Devils best chance of playing Champions League football next season.
The 30-year-old defender/winger suffered a foot injury during the Manchester derby against City back on October 25th during the 0-0 draw and has following surgery been working hard to get back into manager Louis van Gaal’s team.
With the Dutchman now confirming he has a chance of taking part in the match against Liverpool.
Van Gaal said: “Valencia is fit enough to be on the bench but not to play all 90 minutes.”
Red Devil’s boss LVG has been forced to rely on the clubs youngsters during a recent injury crisis and will be pleased to see Valencia and a few of the other senior players return to the squad as he prepares to battle for a top four finish over the final games of the season.
