Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has warned his former club PSV Eindhoven he is determined to score in the Philips Stadion, and has no reservations about celebrating a goal.
The 21-year-old Dutch international came up through the ranks at PSV scoring 28-goals in in all competitions for last season’s Eredivisie-winning team, and while he expects a warm welcome on his return from the sell-out 35,000 crowd he says he will not be fazed by what promises to be a special occasion.
“Of course, I played for PSV for 10 years before I came to Manchester United,” he said. “So it will a special feeling for me to see my old team mates again and I am looking forward to it.
“When I step on to the pitch I will think about when I first played for PSV but the match is a different thing. A lot of people have asked me if I will celebrate if I score but it’s a game we want to win, I play for United now, so of course I will celebrate and of course I will respect PSV.
“It will be interesting to see what we can do but I think we can do a good job here.”
