According to this morning’s Telegraph Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will be given £100 million to go after Real Madrid’s Gareth bale should the former Tottenham winger become available this summer.

United’s new mega million deal with German sportswear manufacturer Adidas gives the club the financial firepower to go after one of Real Madrid’s Galatico’s making Bale a realistic target.

United needs to secure just six-points from their remaining four games to be assured of Champions League football next season , with club officials ready to back van Gaal in the transfer market as United already begins to plan their assault on next seasons Premiership title.

Looking at the deal realistically we here at Soccer Transfers can see how bringing the 25-year-old Bale to Old Trafford makes sense commercially, but it would appear to render the signing of PSV winger Memphis Depay irrelevant and might even have the youngster decide to join Liverpool for fear of having to spend most of his time on Manchester United’s bench.
