Manchester United’s duo of Robin van Persie and Daley Blind were in action on Tuesday with the Dutch national team when they visited Prague in a Euro 2016 qualifier where they played Czech Republic.

It was the first match in the qualifiers for the Dutch national team but the team couldn’t secure a victory away from home under Guus Hiddink.

The Dutch team was close to securing a 1-1 draw before a late mistake from Newcastle defender, Daryl Janmaat cost the team as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat with Czech substitute Vaclav Pilar capitalising on the mistake to score a late winner.

Robin Van Persie had a chance after the goal but couldn’t convert with his header going wide off mark.

In a group where both trips to Czech Republic and Turkey probably proving more difficult for the Dutch team, the group is well open with Guus Hiddink’s men also expected to face Kazakhstan, Iceland and Latvia.

Czech Republic took the lead in the first half through Sparta Prague midfielder Borek Dockal.

Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij headed past Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech 10 minutes into the second half to put the Dutch team level on goals.

Although players like Memphis Depay caused a bit of threat with his pace but the Dutch team struggled to make anything reasonable of their attacking moves.

The Dutch team had a good summer at the 2014 world cup under Louis Van Gaal who has since been replaced by Guus Hiddink but Hiddink couldn’t record a victory in his first competitive match in his second spell in charge of the national team.

The Dutch team under Guus Hiddink also lost 2-0 too Italy at the weekend in a friendly match.

Both Robin Van Persie and Daley Blind will hope to put this result behind them as they will want to help Manchester United secure their first win of the season under Louis Van Gaal.

Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett was on duty for England Under-21.

The young defender made a winning debut for the young Three Lions team when he came on as a substitute in the team’s 3-0 away win over Moldova.

Everton’s Luke Garbutt came off for Tyler Blackett which gave him a chance to pair up with another Manchester United youngster, Mike Keane who is presently on loan at Burnley.

In other news, Manchester United full – back Rafael Da Silva has returned to training after sustaining an injury during Manchester United pre-season tour of the United States of America.

The Brazillian defender only played 45 minutes during the tour before returning to Manchester with the groin injury.

Rafael is expected to challenge Antonio Valencia for the right wing-back position in manager Louis van Gaal’s 3-5-2 formation or the right back position if there is a change of formation from the manager.

Phil Jones joined the injury list in Old Trafford with Chris Smalling still possible to be unavailable for selection.

Other defender available for selection for the next game is Marcos Rojo.
