Ever since Joes Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015, he has always been linked to a move to Manchester United as the replacement for Dutchman Louis Van Gaal whose future with the Red devils is in doubt. There were reports that Jose Mourinho has verbally agreed a deal with Manchester United that will see him take over from LVG at the end of the season. Although nothing has officially been confirmed, the rumours seem not to be ready to go away anytime soon.

Today, reports from Spain have it that Jose Mourinho despite not yet declared as Manchester United manager officially has been working behind the scene ahead of his official confirmation. The well-travelled Portuguese is said to have started making transfer plans ahead of the summer transfer window.

Key among players Mourinho will like to sign for Manchester United is James Rodriguez and Raphael Varane who are both in the books of Real Madrid. According to the report by Fichajes.net Mourinho wants both players at Manchester United and will do everything possible to convince them to move to the Old Trafford this summer.

With Phil Jones not looking like he will ever be injury free and Blind being played out position, United could do with the signing of another centre back which makes the links to Varane interesting. The young French defender may not have been playing regularly for Real Madrid due to the presence of Ramos and Pepe in the Madrid team but he will be a great addition to the Red devils if they manage to sign him.

Aside maybe ( and it is Maybe ) Chris Smalling, Manchester United do not have any centre back who is better than Varane. James Rodriguez on the other hand has always been linked to Manchester United. Even before he joined Real Madrid in 2014, he was always linked to a move to old Trafford.

Should United finally be able to sign the South American, will also be a great addition. James’ versatility will offer United much more than the likes of Mata have offered.

Both players will however not come cheap but United have the money, don’t they?
