Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is coming under pressure from not only the fans but former Manchester United players as well for the type of possession football he is trying to instil in a team once known for their all-out attacking style of play.

The Dutchman however could go a long way in silencing his critics, while at the same time increasing the Red Devils chance of winning the Premiership by signing Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu in January.

According to Sport Bild United once more had scouts in attendance watching the 21-year-old Turkish international during the Champions League 4-4 draw with Roma last Tuesday evening and are said to be instructing LVG to go after the Bundesliga free-kick specialist.

Calhanoglu is under contract with the German club till 2019, but a bid in the region of £29 million could persuade them to sell.
