News coming out of Italy this afternoon suggests Manchester United is about to make a move for Lazio’s Argentinian midfielder Lucas Biglia.
The 29-year-old international midfielder played a significant role in helping the Rome club to qualify for the Champions League, while at the same time making some of Europe’s bigger clubs sit up and take notice.
Italian newspaper Il Messaggero is saying that United boss Louis van Gaal is looking to bolster the Red Devils defence ahead of their return to Europe and is willing to pay Lazio £18.6 million for the defensive minded player.
The former Anderlecht player has become a huge favourite of the fans at the Stadio Olympico, and there will be much dissent should Lazio decide to sell.
