According to recent reports Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has decided to make a move for 21-year old Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

Tuttomercatoweb is claiming that United tried to sign the Turkish international towards the end of the summer transfer window, but failed and will now go back to the Bundesliga club in January with a new offer.

Despite being only 21, Calhanoglu has already made a name for himself in the Bundesliga as a free-kick expert, and if his display against Barcelona midweek in the Champions League 2-1 loss to the Catalan giants at the Nou Camp is anything to go by United would be crazy not to sign him if they have the chance once the next window opens.

Having watched the match here in Spain on Tuesday we can honestly say he was one of the German side’s best players, and would certainly fit well into the team Louis van Gaal is putting together at Old Trafford.
