Manchester United is prepared to smash the British record transfer fee in January

Manchester United is all set to smash the British record transfer fee in January by making a £60 million bid for Tottenham and England star Harry Kane.

United has failed to score in their last two matches against Manchester City and Middlesboro, and while summer signing Anthony Martial has been impressive since joining from Monaco the form of Wayne Rooney is being questioned after seeing him score just two goals despite being moved into a goal scoring strikers position.

Meanwhile Kane has not been finding the back of the net as often as he did last season, but Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal feels he is the perfect striker for United, and now according to the Sun, the Red Devils will step up their bid in January with Spurs holding out for more than the £59.7m United paid for Angel Di Maria in 2014.
