A couple of days ago the Daily Mail ran a story saying the Real Madrid had won the race over Manchester United for Porto right back Danilo, after new club transfer guru Ariedo Braida travelled to Porto to watch the Brazilian international in action and convince him that his place was at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The paper contradicted reports in Spain that claimed the Spanish giants were in a tug-of-war with United over the 23-year-old.

Today the Sunday Times is saying that despite interest from Real Madrid and now Barcelona, that Manchester in confident in signing the in-demand defender as they are willing to offer him a better compensation package than the two Spanish clubs.

Barcelona meanwhile is at a disadvantage in any talks as they are not allowed to sign or sell any players until a transfer ban is lifted in January 2016.
