According to news coming out of Spain this morning Manchester United is closely watching what is happening regarding Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets and his on-going contract talks with the Catalan giants.

Currently the 27-year-old has a deal that will keep him at the Nou camp until 2019, but he is refusing to sign a new contract unless his salary is made equal to that of Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez says Spanish football publication Fichajes, who claim Manchester United is ready to pounce should talks break down.

Busquets has been at Barcelona his entire life getting his breakthrough into the first team under trainer Pep Guardiola , going on to become a regular in the team under Tito Vilanova and current boss Luis Enrique.

While every Red Devil fan to a man would love to see the Spanish international at Old Trafford, the truth is he is one of those types of players who will never leave Barcelona and is so good that he will get the pay rise he is asking for.

Meanwhile two players United look poised to sign are Colombian forward James Rodriguez and Benfica winger Renato Sanches.
