Some exciting news for Manchester United fans this morning is that Chief Scout Jim Lawlor may have uncovered yet another hidden gem south of the border.

Lawlor was the man responsible for bringing Chivas Guadalajara striker Javier Hernandez to Old Trafford for £6 million six years ago, before current manager Louis van Gaal decided to ship Chicharito off to Spain on loan, and then eventually sell the Mexican international to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for a ridiculously low price.

Since then Hernandez has gone on to become one of the German league’s top scorers while winning the Bundesliga Player-of-the-month award four times this season.

Anyway enough of Chicharito and the Dutchman’s mistake, and back to Lawlor’s new star, Pachuca winger, Hirving Lozano.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Pachuca President Jesus Martinez, revealed recently that United have been paying particular attention to the clubs 20-year-old star winger.

“[The chief scout] has been coming here to do special reports on our players, but especially Chucky,” he said.

“We would love it if he had to go that it would be to a team like Manchester United or Porto.”

The fan favourite goes by the nickname ‘Chucky’ and has so far been capped twice by Mexico, and despite preferring his right foot primarily plays on the left wing for Pachuca, who finished seventh in the Mexican league last season.
