Italian Serie A side Palermo is refusing to deny that it is Manchester United that has put in a bid of £28.5 million for Argentine sensation Paulo Dybala.

The Argentinian international striker was last weekend reported to have agreed terms with Arsenal, but it now looks like Manchester United has upped the Gunners offer with a higher bid for the 21-year-old from Cordoba.

The Sicilian clubs president Maurizio Zamparini has told reporters that he has a bid for the hot-shot but will not confirm that it is from Old Trafford.

‘I already have a bid of £28.5 million,’ confirmed Maurizio Zamparini.

‘Is it Manchester United that brought this figure? I will not say, even under torture, which club has submitted the offer.’

Based on those cryptic quotes it would appear as if the bid was from Manchester United, which means Arsenal will have to come back with more money in order to land one of Europe’s most sought after youngsters.
