According to a report in Thursdays Daily Express newspaper Manchester United have put in a £20 million bid for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio who has also been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
News out of Italy is saying that United approached the Turin team about Marchisio’s availability telling the Italians that they are willing to pay £20 million for the 27-year-old.
United is desperate to try and land a midfielder this January to boost their chances of a Champions League finish, and the Italian international ticks all the right boxes.
Juventus already has Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal in midfield and with reports suggesting that the club has a financial shortfall of £17 million they could very well be persuaded to part with Marchisio who is also looking for more playing time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
