Reports from Football insider has it that Jose Mourinho has verbally agreed a £48m deal to succeed Louis Van Gaal in the Manchester United dug-out next season.

It has also been reported that Mourinho will pocket an excess of £16 million (per annum/£308,000-a-week) judging from the  pre-contract agreement he signed with Manchester United which will run for three years, starting from the summer.

The story was collaborated by no one else but former Tottenham manager and Frank Lampard’s Uncle, Harry Rednapp who went public saying that the Mourinho/Manchester United deal is a ‘Done Deal’ .

Mourinho has hugely been successful in his career winning the Champions League twice (Porto and Inter Milan) and winning the League title in each of his spells in four countries namely England (Chelsea- three league titles), Portugal (FC Porto- two league title), Italy (Inter Milan – two league titles) and Spain (Real Madrid – One league title).

According to another British daily The Guardian, Louis Van Gaal’s precarious situation in United has not been helped largely because he is not respected by senior players of the team, as the players are seen to be rooting for the appointment of the former Barcelona assistant coach in the summer.

The general feeling however in Old Trafford is that Mourinho will take over from his mentor Louis Van Gaal who retained him and made him his assistant in Barcelona after the sacking of former Newcastle manager Bobby Robson by Barcelona.
