Manchester City to offer Juventus £71m for Pogba

Now with the restrictive FFP handcuffs off Manchester City is prepared to break the British record transfer fee off £59.7 million that cross town rivals Manchester United paid for Angle Di Maria, by offering Juventus £71 million for midfield genius Paul Pogba.

After finding themselves second best to Chelsea last season, manger Manuel Pellegrini has been told to overhaul the squad and sign some young players that City can build a future around, and none comes bigger than the 22-year-old French international.

Hopes of bringing the former Manchester United player back to England remain high after Barcelona failed to convince the youngster to remain in Turin for one more season until after their transfer ban had been lifted before moving to the Nou Camp, and when the Catalan giants only offered Juventus £57 million for their top player the talks collapsed opening the door for City, who now hopes to get a deal done soon so that Pogba can link up with them on their pre-season tour of Australia.

It would appear that for the moment at least Manchester City is the only club that is prepared to meet the Italians £71 million asking price while also being prepared to pay the £240,000 that Pogba is asking for in wages.
