Manchester City is to SMASH the British transfer record by signing the KING OF ASSISTS for £60m

Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has given Manchester City a signal that he is available for a transfer after telling his current club Wolfsburg that he would like to leave.

Last season De Bruyne led the Bundesliga with 20 assists matching both Zvjezdan Misimovic and Franck Ribery for the most assists in any one season.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been given a huge war chest to bring in new young players, and certainly has plenty of cash to spare despite already paying £49 million for Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling.

Wolfsburg are no dummies and especially so after watching Liverpool hold out for their asking fee for Sterling and while City knows their first offer is unlikely to be accepted a British transfer record of £60 million should convince the Germans to part with their prize asset who was rejected by Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
