According to the latest reports on Wednesday Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has told club executive vice chairman that he wants Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller, and his instructed the United deal maker to spend as much as £70.7 million to bring the 25-year-old German international to Old Trafford.

Dutchman van Gaal is desperate to attract a world class striker to the club this summer, as he prepares what he expects to be a title winning team.

German sports news outlet SportBild is saying that Woodward has been instructed to do whatever it takes to convince Bayern Munich to sell one of their prized assets, even if it means spending what remains of LVG’s entire summer budget to land a player that has spent his entire career with the Bundesliga champions.

It is expected that despite such a huge offer Bayern trainer Pepe Guardiola will resist the sale in the strongest possible way, and for a club as big as Bayern Munich if they do not want to sell even the biggest of offers could fall on deaf ears.
