Barcelona new signing Luis Suarez has hired a personal trainer to begin his pre-season training in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain.

The former Liverpool striker is banned from any football activity with his new team for four months following a ban from FIFA for his behaviour during a match in this summer’s World Cup in which he bit an opposing player.

The Uruguayan is hoping however that a Court of Arbitration for Sport will lessen the penalty after he appeals his case during the second week of August and that he will then be allowed to train with his new teammates.

The reason Suarez decided to move to the Pyrenees to train is because it is far cooler and less humid than in Barcelona which is on the coast.

Training at altitude will also benefit Suarez’s fitness when he returns to football, as well as having been told by his legal team to stay out of the spotlight so as FIFA cannot say he is breaking the terms of his ban.

Currently his new teammates are training in England ahead of their first pre-season friendly against Nice a week on Saturday.
