Louis van Gaal has urged Manchester United fans to remain calm and place their trust in his philosophy following a disappointing start to the Barclays Premier League season.

The Dutch tactician was unhappy and felt disappointed following the team’s disastrous start of the current campaign but told the fans to remain calm.

The United boss believes criticism from the media is inevitable especially when his team doesn’t perform well but he is fully confident that the team will come good as he pleaded for calm and patience among Manchester United fans during the transformation period where he will be ringing necessary changes to the team.

Fans will be highly anxious with the team’s away trip to Sunderland on Sunday and everyone including the players will want to bring back the form that saw them win the international champions cup during pre-season in the United States of America.

The boss regarded to the fans as been intelligent and reminded the media of his initial stance after resumption of duty.

Van Gaal said back in July that the first 3 months of the season will be tough for the team and fans as they undergo the transformation.

He also made mention of how much the media can go in affecting football stating “Two weeks ago, I was the king of Manchester and now I am the devil of Manchester,” and called for calm among United fans.

The manager understands the position of the fans and their fears but he hammered that they should have faith and believes in the philosophy the club is building as they plan to turn things around.

It is evident Manchester United fans are not comfortable with the present situation especially after a drop from the top four which seems very strange to a team of Manchester United calibre.

Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t achieve all he did in one week, one month or even one year.

It took several years for the best British manager to get his team to the top and it’s not going to come easy for Louis Van Gaal either who inherited a disjointed squad with little confidence.

David Moyes would have been on the job if there was a promising prospect in the team but his time in charge showed a serious decline in Old Trafford.

Louis Van Gaal on the other hand is a lot more tactical and highly rated than Moyes with trophy winning experiences to show for it.

His latest exploit in leading the Dutch team to a third place finish at the world cup summarises his ability to perform at the big stage.

Van Gaal will need time to bring in players, make them adapt to his system and build a team for the future.

The new manager have shown what he is capable of during the International champions cup and it’s of the opinion he will definitely make United better at least finishing above the 7th place of last season and hopefully making the top four and moving back to the UEFA champions league next season.
