Just 24 hours before Liverpool’s match against West Ham a text message came in listing manager Brendan Rodgers staring XI for the following days match against the Hammers.

By then of course it was all over social media taking any element of surprise away from Sam Alladyce’s team.

The same thing has been happening for weeks now with the info spot on every time much to the annoyance of the Reds boss who can do nothing about it.

The problem is the fact that Liverpool’s Melwood training ground is not just open to the elements but to anyone determined to watch Rodgers in training with the team.

Most top clubs training facilities are private affairs closed to the public’s prying eyes, but Liverpool do not have that luxury with onlookers being able to see over the Melwood walls by standing on cars or even using ladders.

Knowing which team Rodgers is putting out is easy to see as the manager has the starting XI all wearing the same coloured bibs when he works on formations the day before the match, with that info then sent out on Twitter.

Rodgers tried to get around the problem by doing some of the training at Anfield, but with the pitch having only just been re-laid in the summer, it is not feasible to practice on it the a day before a match.
The obvious solution would be bigger walls at Melwood or a larger indoor facility, both of which would of course involve spending money.
