Liverpool and Fiorentina are considering an intriguing swap deal involving Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli and Fiorentino striker Mario Gomez, claim Italian media outlet Mediaset, who claims both players could be set for season long loans.
In all truth Mario Balotelli has had a terrible time fitting in at Anfield since his £16 million move from AC Milan last summer managing to score just one goal in the Premiership all season.
Meanwhile the 30-year-old German international is eager to move away from his Italian club after having been given limited playing time following a £14 million move from Bayern Munich in 2013.
Gomez has in all truth been a failure at Fiorentina scoring just 14 goals in 47 appearances for the Serie A side, but we all remember watching him score plenty of goals in Germany and if he could regain his former form would be a threat in the Premiership.
As for Balotelli a spell back in his native Italy could just be what is needed to get the 24-year-old firing on all cylinders again.
