Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is about to go on a £75 million summer spending spree after having already signed James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan and Joe Gomez for virtually nothing.

Now Rodgers is looking to shell out some serious cash, but it should be covered by the sale of Raheem Sterling and a few other who are set for the chop at Anfield.

First up is Real Madrid defensive midfielder Asier Illarramendi, who the Reds have now upped their offer for the 25-year-old to £16 million, and are confident that the Spanish giants will accept.

Up until this week Liverpool’s main summer target was assumed to be Christian Benteke, but after having taken a long hard look at the big Belgium Rodgers has decided that Aston Villa’s asking price of £32.5 million is too much and that he is better off spending the money on two top players rather than just one.

Top of the Northern Irishman’s wish list now is Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca and Zenit St-Petersburg’s Venezuela forward Salomon Rondon who is rated at £14 million, while Colombian international goal-scoring machine Bacca is rated at £22 million.

Here at Soccer transfer we like these three signing and hope that Liverpool can pull it off and look to the future while telling Raheem Sterling to not let the door hit him in the arse on his way out.
